Results
90+
Lighthouse Score (Media Heavy)
Problem
The client needed a visually immersive portfolio to showcase high-quality CGI showreels without compromising page load speeds. They also required a simple, custom backend to upload and manage new artwork without needing to write code.
What I built
- Developed a highly optimized frontend using Next.js to deliver fast SSR/SSG page loads, scoring 90+ on Lighthouse despite heavy video assets.
- Integrated Sanity CMS to construct a structured, headless content management system tailored specifically for the artist's workflow.
- Designed a sleek, dark-themed UI that stays out of the way and puts the CGI content center stage.

Key decisions
Sanity CMS over Traditional Monoliths (WordPress)
Why
A Headless CMS like Sanity provided complete control over the frontend architecture with Next.js, ensuring maximum performance while giving the client a pristine, customized editing dashboard.
Trade-off
Required defining custom schemas and writing frontend queries from scratch rather than relying on pre-built templates.
Technical notes
Media Optimization Pipeline
Utilized Next.js Image components and optimized video loading strategies (lazy loading, blurred placeholders) to maintain strict performance metrics while displaying high-fidelity VFX assets.
What I would do next
This project highlighted the delicate balance between high visual fidelity and web performance, proving that media-heavy websites can still be exceptionally fast if engineered correctly with a Headless CMS.
